About Today’s English Editions

We are a small publishing house devoted to classic texts that deserve a wider readership. Many wonderful books remain difficult to approach because their language, references, and cultural assumptions have aged. Our editions remove that friction without sacrificing what made the originals worth reading.

What we do

Each title begins with a faithful reading of the source. We modernize syntax and vocabulary where the original would confuse a contemporary reader, and we preserve tone, rhythm, and meaning wherever possible. Archaisms that carry historical weight are kept and explained.

Footnotes and context notes appear at the points where readers most often pause: unfamiliar terms, obsolete institutions, geographical references, and allusions to other works. Charts and maps are added when they clarify argument or setting.

Illustrations are chosen or commissioned to support the text—scene, character, or diagram—rather than decorate the margins for their own sake. The result is a book that feels intentional on the page and straightforward in the hand.
